Think low earth orbit; places to live in space: saucer shaped - yes, just like those kind. They looked off white or yellow. The hatch was at the bottom and they had no windows.
There is a regulation that the hatch cannot be locked. The reason is someone may want to get in, and if they don't they could die. It is a house in vacuum and like a ship on the open sea must bring on board those who are adrift.
In the distance they hang off of a geodesic set of struts roughly cylindrical in outline. There may be half a dozen of these objects hanging from this scaffolding, obtaining their gravity by the spin of the whole thing.
Contrast this with the “space station” you might have read about in the 50's schoolbook, or now in some science fiction program on television. I like to think this is more practical.
Anyway it seemed that's how people lived in space.
In this dream I was a cop investigating a rape, talking to the victim afterwords. She looked beanpole thin, but strong. Wearing a turtle neck brown body suit that looked utilitarian and comfortable. She had the option of having an abortion but she refused it. Principled.
I suited up and went outside to look around but couldn't see anything. The suit wasn't quite what I imagined, although it was white. It almost had a stove pipe faceplate so I could see things in the distance.
